It has always been difficult for me to drink water, I was the typical person who only drank at meals or when I was very thirsty and the truth is that water did not make me very funny, I preferred to drink other liquids such as carbonated drinks. Fortunately, my house has always drank water and my mother has never bought me industrial juices or soft drinks, except on special occasions. These types of drinks are not healthy for children or for adults, they are full of sugars and chemical additives.

About 6 years ago I lost a lot of weight when I became interested in healthy food and my dietitian made me aware of how important hydration is to our body. To force myself to drink, I always had the bottle close at hand and although at first it cost me a lot, now I drink 2 or 3 liters without realizing it and I love water.

If you find it difficult to drink at least 1 and a half or two liters a day, the detox waters are for you, they have a very rich flavor and are full of vitamins and minerals. You can use your favorite fruits and add some herbs to add flavor. We have two other detox waters on the blog and in fact they are two of the most successful recipes. It is also very useful for purifying the body, eliminating toxins and for losing weight.

This detox water is the richest I have tried so far and it is very easy to prepare. You only need to put water in a glass jar or jar and add strawberries, oranges and mint or spearmint. You can put the amount you want, although below you can see my recipe.

If you don’t like mint or spearmint, you can just use the fruit and add another herb or some fruit that you like or have on hand. Tangerines are also very tasty and provide a milder flavor than orange. The ideal is not to drink the freshly made water because it will not have much flavor. I recommend that you let it marinate for at least an hour, although you can leave it overnight. The longer you leave it, the stronger the flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 orange
  • 6 strawberries
  • 10 mint or spearmint leaves
  • 4 cups of water ( 1 l)

Instructions

  1. Cut the orange and strawberries into small pieces.
  2. Put the fruits and mint in a glass container and add the water.
  3. Let the detox water sit for at least an hour. You can let it marinate for 12 or 24 hours. The longer it’s mashing, the more flavor it will have.
  4. You can eat the fruit or you can make green smoothies or any other recipe that comes to mind with it.
